Q. Am I allowed to use another supplier other than the council?

A. Yes you are. London Refuse Collection is a licensed business waste collector for London Businesses and give a better price and flexibility over the council operators. You must use bags which are certified and supplied by London Refuse and these must be tied and placed for collection in the normal way. Bins and compactors are also operated in the same way.

Q. Will I still get any fines from the council if I use London Refuse?

A. Some councils have strict enforcement policies With regards to waste- it is necessary to place out waste neatly tied and not overloaded to cause spillage. Further more bags need to be placed out according to strict times – otherwise penalties and fines may be issued. London Refuse works with all are customers to avoid such occurrences. These fines are issued, regardless of who you use and is commonly given to businesses served by the council. It is a legal requirement that businesses tie and secure waste and put it out at times which are appropriate.

Q. How will I know that you will collect the bags?

A. We already collect from hundreds of businesses across London including many prestigious names and PLC’s.. Apart from that you will have the direct contact number for the operations manager responsible for your street that you can call if your bags have not been collected. If we have genuinely missed a collection then a vehicle will be dispersed to ensure it is collected as soon as possible. For national collections it is the same story- so service is our primary focus regardless of direct cost to London Refuse.

Q. London Refuse Prepaid bag system sounds good but I have council prepaid bags to use?

A. It’s not a problem; of course you want to use up your Councils supply if you have already paid for them. All you need to do is sign a new customer form and your details will be logged onto our data system. You can than place an order at anytime when you are ready to start with London Refuse as you details are logged and we are ready to provide service the very same day you start to make orders through London Refuse.
